NUT Strike Actiion

Dear Parent/Carer,

Notification of School Closure

You may be aware from the national press and television that the National Union of Teachers (NUT) is staging a one day strike on Thursday, 24 April 2008.

A large number of NMHSB teaching staff, who are members of the NUT, will be taking part in the strike.  As a result of this I have to inform you that the school will be closed to pupils on Thursday, 24 April 2008 for one day only.

The boys will not be required to attend school on that day but should attend on Friday, 25 April 2008 as normal.

I will ensure that you are kept fully informed of any future industrial action.

Easter Holiday 2008

The school closes for the Easter break at 12.30 on Thursday, 20 March and re-opens at normal time on Monday, 7 April 2008.

FLEP - Families Learning into Employment

Year 8.

We have just forged a link with an agency called F.L.E.P. This stands for Families Learning into Employment Programme. I plan to use this space to show you some of the things they offer in terms of advice and support about getting back into employment. Information about courses that can be followed and Workshops and sessions that aims to improve confidence to help you to move on into employment successfully.

Events:

• Tuesday 29th January – Coffee Morning @ Crosslee Community Primary School

• Tuesday 29th January – Training Course in Research Skills @ Plant Hill Adult Education Centre.

• Tuesday 5th Feb - Family Open Day @ Moston Sure Start Children’s Centre 10am – 2pm. Includes advice on training/employment/further education/voluntary work.

• Saturday Mornings – Family Cycle Club @ Boggart Hole Clough Running Track Every Saturday morning January – March.
